PeteMag.com - The Portfolio of Pete Magulak

Welcome to my website. The page is rather long: Blog, Facebook, Twitter and Linked In will take you off of this site. I guess you (or me) could say I’ve been considered a designer for the past nine or so years, but I’ve been drawing, painting and creating for much longer. Please look around and if you like or don’t like what you see, feel free to drop me a line. Thank you.

Ben & Jerry's
As the AD on B&J, I worked with a team to come up with a social media platform to help promote their new products, initiatives and to help generate new business. This included Banner Ads, a Facebook page (Events, Polls, Gifts)
and work with outside vendors (MeetUp, Daily Candy). There are several pieces here that range from a superhero homepage to a snowboard designer. Some of this work was for both the US and Asia markets.
The American Heart Association
I was the AD for the AHA for two and a half years while at Edelman. Sites and initiatives I was responsible for were varried, they included design to Choose to Move, Start!, and Go Red for Women websites. I was involved in these
projects from idea to UI to launch. Other projects included an online walking tool for the Start! initiative and widgets.
Bausch + Lomb
This was a redesign of bausch corporate website. It includes a streamlined user experience, and the addition of a marquee area for top stories or corporate announcements. The site look is updated from the cuttent site, but still incorporates
much of the Bausch+Lomb branding ideals.
Chipotle
  • Role - Art Director

This was a design for a site from Chipotle about Food with Integrity. I had about 6 hours to come up with this. Tight timeline, right? This site included a lot of social networking componants including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Podcasts.
Empire State Building
This project began almost 2 years ago and is now almost complete after several concepts, and a lot of hard work by a lot of different people. I was the Art Director on the project and involved in all facets of the design from brainstorming to
wireframes to concepting to interior page design to user interface, etc., etc., etc. You get the point. There was a lot of work that went into this project. Still waiting for it to go live.
eBay
  • Role - Art Director

I was tasked with creating several key pieces for a "Let's Make a Daily eBay Deal" event for eBay held in Times Square. The first step was designing Times Square billboards which is link 02. These ran on the Reuters and Nasdaq boards.
Additionally a micro site was created to go along with the event for press, and social media pieces for a Facebook page; along with Daily Candy, MeetUp and Thrilllist newsletters.
Kingsford
For a New Business opportunity, I was tasked with creating a new look for the Kingsford web site. This consisted of an updated homepage, interior page and social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter.
Nature's Path
I ended up doing three or four concepts for this client. I link the site here but only because it reflecs one of my concepts. I was not involved in the production or programming of it. Idea to artwork basically.
Axe
  • Role - Art Director

During the MySpace craze of 06-08 when every business couldn't wait to get their hands on a MySpace page, I was the AD on AXE's products. I did several MySpace pages for them including ESP and Jessica Sutta. I was also the AD on the
first two iterations of their Facebook page. This included concepts, design and graphical production.
Boy Scouts of America
  • Role - Art Director

This site was a social media initiative put forth by the boy Scouts. The idea here was that scouts and scout leadrs would be able to have their own Troup page, along with a page for the individual scouts. The pages were designed
to be fully customizable, including announcements, customizable headers for Troops, events and camp sites. A Facebook for Boy Scouts.
Pro Team Golf League
  • Role - Art Director

This site was a golfing site that acted like a fantasy golf site. There were several teams form different countries and users would create player pairs based on the teams. The most popular matchups would then play and you would recieve
points based on how they did on the course. There were two components here, a site design proper and an additional game design that was the focus of the site.

Ben & Jerry's
  • Role - Art Director

This poster is a concept for an event in the Asia market. The posters would go into Ben & Jerry's scoop shops.
Scott Kay
  • Role – Jr. Art Director

While working at Scott Kay I was the Junior AD and Webmaster for their two sites; one for bridal and one for sterling silver. I worked on everything from magazine ads, posters, billboards and newspaper ads, to Flash design and
programming, ASPX, Database work, web design, html programming, banner ads and email blasts.
MDNG
  • Role - Art Director

I was tasked with helping rebrand the MDNG magazine. Here are three concepts I came up with.
Silent Hill
  • Role - Art Director

I entered a contest for the movie Silent Hill to design a movie poster. I sent in two concepts and poster 01 became a finalist.
Resident Evil
  • Role - Art Director

Prior to entering the Silent Hill movie poster design contest I entered one for the movie Resident Evil and became a finalist with concept 1.

Chuck
  • Role – Artist

This is an illustration based on the NBC show "Chuck." It is also inspird by Jim Steranko's famous cover of the comic book Nick Fury, agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm thinking I might start a series based on TV shows I like and inspired by different
media. Whether it be comic covers, music covers, photos. I'll see what happens though.
Childrens Book
  • Role – Artist

I started helping a friend with a children’s book of poetry, but unfortunately because of real world obligations getting in the way, I was only able to complete the two here. I wish I could go back and finish the rest.
Johnny Cash
  • Role – Artist

I am Johnny Cash fan and I think this is one of his most famous photos taken. So I did a line drawing in illustrator and made the background in photoshop, which actually became the inspiration for the background of this site. I pretty much
change up his background every few months. I also have a Clint Eastwood and Grateful Dead line drawing that I may or may not put up one day.
Spider Man
  • Role – Artist

I like this because I hand drew Spider-Man, scanned him, traced him in illustrator and colored him in Photoshop. It was one of the first times I tried that quite a while ago but I still like it so why not include it here?
